Cape Cod Wedding Dsjs Disc Jockey -
Frequently Asked Questions (and helpful tips) by
DJ Tom Tuttle

Weddings
What's the best way for us to
find about whether you should be our Wedding DJ?
Please set up a meeting (call or email for
appointment) and share your wedding plans, then make your decision.
Weekdays are best to meet. If you are too busy
to meet, then we will help you as best we can over the telephone 508-255-1141.
Tom's Tip 1:
Another great
way to research any DJ's ability is to ask
Cape Cod Wedding Venues,
and, such as
Cape Cod Photographers,
who work closely with us on a weekly basis.
Note which DJ names keep coming up on the various Cape
Cod Venues lists. The more you see a name, the more likely you are of
getting someone qualified.
Many couples
also tell us they get reassurance after reading through our
Testimonials.
Tom's Tip 2:
Successful DJs are usually busy on weekends at
weddings. If you want to meet, it is better to schedule your meeting on a
weekday.
However, each DJ company is different. Around
here Tuesdays and Wednesday mornings work best.
We are going to be visiting Cape Cod soon, can we
see DJ Disc Jockey in action at a Cape Cod wedding?
We find it works best not to use a couple's wedding
day to promote our services.
This is great news for you in that you will not have
to worry about our inviting a couple to your reception to peek in.
Tom's Tip 4:
FYI. Only a rare handful of reception
venues on the Cape Cod are designed in such a way where couple could view an
on-going reception from the foyer/lobby area without being viewed as a
potential "wedding crasher."
Tom's Tip 5:
Should you decide to show up at someone else's
reception to check out the venue, or the DJ, you are encouraged to dress the
same way you would if you were to attend their wedding.

Will Cape Cod DJ Disc
Jockey act as Emcee?
Yes, and tastefully. We think fewer words
spoken by a DJ are better than too many.
We refrain from the typical interactive DJ chatter,
and avoid anything even closely related to a "Wedding Singer" style.
Since our very first wedding in 1981, our
success has been built on taking a tasteful approach.
For example, we avoid WWF type introductions,
announcements and productions of any kind.
Tom's Tip 6:
Many couples save precious reception
time by only introducing the bride and groom.
You might want to consider this because your day will likely go much quicker
than you might think. Experience has shown us that couples often use up to
15 minutes of precious reception time rounding up and introducing their entire
bridal party.
Will the Disk Jockey work with us so our wedding
reception musical wishes are carried out?
Yes, and we will have fun while we plan it together!
Couples often tell us that planning their music is the most enjoyable "task."
With your input, we offer a nice
music mix so everyone is happy and has fun.
How many songs shall I select for DJ to play?
Visit our
Music List to find out
more about the number of songs you will have time to hear.
-
If you want to choose
your own music, you are wise to start with about 15 to 25 fast dance
songs and 5 to 8 slow tunes.
-
If your playlist contains too many songs, we will not
enough have time to fit them all in.
-
Some couples provide
us with an A list of "must play" songs (20 or so songs to start
with), and a B list of, "If you have time
could you play these."
-
You might consider
leaving a little breathing room (by not choosing every song yourself)
for your guests to fit
in a few requests of their own. They are sure to appreciate your
kindness.
-
Every wedding
is unique so the number of songs at your wedding may vary slightly.
Will you have time to take requests?
We may, depending on how many songs the Bride and
Groom have selected. They get first choice.
When guests make requests, it adds a fun spark to
the spontaneity of your reception.
May we bring songs you don't have in your
collection?
Yes please bring your unique music. We
probably have your request in our collection, or can easily get it. But if
you have unique taste, and own a one of a kind song, we are happy to play your
CDs and iPods.
Can DJ provide music for our wedding ceremony as
well as the reception?
Yes, we do it all the time, when the ceremony and
reception are at the SAME location.
What are your DJ rates?
When you call with your wedding date, we can discuss
your plans and quote our rate.
Tom's Tip 7:
DJ Rates vary around Cape Cod. It's best to do
a little research.
Rates are based on a DJ's
popularity,
years of experience,
talent level, degree of
professionalism, and
musical strengths.
Is DJ overtime available?
Sometimes overtime is available. It depends
whether DJ is obligated to be somewhere after your wedding.
It is more likely your DJ will be available for
overtime at an evening wedding than one in the daytime.
With us, any possible overtime must first be agreed
to by both the DJ and the venue manager on duty.
What is your overtime rate?
Overtime rate will be posted on your agreement.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Yes, you
can view it by clicking this link:
