After helping couples plan their weddings for close to 30 years,
veteran Cape Cod DJ Tom Tuttle has one helpful tip for those who are
newly engaged. As a courtesy, Tom offers this advice to every
bride who chooses him to DJ their wedding.
Once you've set your wedding date, try to accomplish one wedding
planning task per day. Many couples I've worked with have
either waited until the last minute to plan their wedding, or tried
to do it all at once in the beginning. Does this sound
enjoyable to you?
There is a better way. My wife used the one task per day
approach and it really helped. It made our planning fun, and we
avoided would can often be a stressful process.
It may not seem as though you're accomplishing much as you go
through your planning process, but approaching it in this sensible
way will really pay off as your wedding day draws near.
Making one phone call or sending an email adds up, and you're
moving in the right direction.
Couples who try to do everything at the last minute are usually
stressed to the max.
Couples who plan a little at a time are often much more relaxed,
helping them to better enjoy their wedding day.
Here is one task you can do today:
Do a Google search and type in "wedding organizer." (I'm not
talking about a human organizer, but about finding a program, or
software to help you.)
You will find many good programs available on the web. Do some
research and find one that best suits you.
Your wedding organizer will help you see everything that needs
attention before your wedding. It will act as your road map.
With all of your tasks spelled out in front of you, it will be
much easier for you take one little step each day toward making your
special day stress-free! - TT
