Over the years, Tom has witnessed hundreds of gifted students with the ability to write a great speech, but who become paralyzed by so much fear they had trouble delivering it effectively.

Tom will help you find your most comfortable zone as a speaker.

 

• Identify obstacles that are getting in your way as a speaker, and discover ways to work with (instead of against) your fears as they begin to surface.

• Learn where your fear coming from.  Is threat of your fear real or perceived?  What is the worst thing that can happen when giving a speech? 

• How to make better eye contact with your audience, and why this is so important to your success.

• Learn a few tips to help you better connect with your audience.

• Learn ways to use your breathing to help you manage any stage fright,  overcome shyness, and to calm yourself.

• Discover ways to make friends with your fear of public speaking, and accept that fear can be your friend.

• Studies have show fear to be the ultimate energizer; and that with practice, channeling and managing your fear can actually help you to perform better!

• Learn to project your voice better if you tend to be soft spoken

•  

• Practice presenting small extemporaneous speeches to help build your self-confidence

• Learn the importance of taking a more casual approach to speaking before groups as a way to get comfortable

• Learning that in the end, it's okay to be nervous and to show some vulnerability.  It can actually work in your favor and bring you closer to your audience than the overconfident speaker that is just going through the motions.

• Learn to give yourself credit for having the courage to get up before a group.

• Finding and developing your unique voice by practicing a series of exercises before the group.

• Visual yourself as successful public speaker.  Remember, your audience wants you to succeed.  They want to hear what you have to say.
